Week 13
Final Project
This week, we did prototyping based on the research we got.
For the first iteration, we did a Lo-Fi prototype using Figma, where we redesigned the space first by thinking of reusing the currently unused space, and also adding more characters to it. We decided to add more whiteboards so that people will be able to separate the space, while also adding more decorations and pegboards for people to customize the space to better fit their working vibe. We also redesigned the entrance of the floor and put more creative and artistic elements to give people a better first impression.
For the second iteration, we did a Hi-Fi, interactive prototype using Unreal Engine, where added more furnitures and separated the space into different areas that function differently to fulfill everyone’s needs: the loud area for hanging out and group work, where people can chill on couches or work in big tables, and the quiet area for individual work and resting, where people can sit in the quiet area farthest from the entrance and work by themselves.
While doing this, we also hung around in the IDM space and approached people to ask them how exactly they want the space to be different, put their ideas down, and added them to our Unreal Engine file. Since we are now finished with our second prototype, we will do an user testing and do another iteration next week with people’s feedback based on our work.
